Municipal Elections 2010

Municipal Elections will be held in all of Alberta this fall. Nomination Day is September 20th and Election Day is October 18th.

Community Calendar Photos

The Holden Community Hall Association produces a Community Calendar (the "Birthday" Calendar) each year. For 2011, they are looking for photos of Holden events or scenery to use in the photo section. If you have a photo that you would like to share, and maybe see on the next calendar, drop it off at Thor Agencies or the Village Office.

Holden Museum - Summer News

The Holden Museum is open for the season on Wed, Fri, Sat, & Sun from Noon - 4:00 pm (and by appointment at other times.) 

Large Item Pick-Up

The fall Large  Item  Pick Up will be held on  Thursday, October 14th.

Please place large items beside the waste bins the night before (or a few days in advance).

Refrigerators  and Freezers (even empty cabinets) will not be picked up unless you have made prior arrangement with the Village Office and paid the freon removal fee of $25.

Heritage Public Meeting

The Village of Holden is conducting a Heritage Survey & Inventory this year. Buildings over 50 years old are candidates for the survey list. Information is currently being gathered on the history of these sites.

Christmas Market

The Annual Christmas Market is on Saturday, November 20, 2010 in the Holden Community Hall. To book tables, call the Village Office at 780-688-3928 or use the contact form on this website.

New Recycling Bin in Holden

A new, red donation bin has been placed at the Recycle Depot on Main Street (corner of 47 Ave).

Seniors' Drop-In Centre News

Join us at the Senior Center every Tuesday afternoon at 1:30, for a game of cards, shuffleboard, or scrabble and lots of fellowship and coffee.

Special needs assistance is available to low-income seniors.
