Yes, sometimes we hold a "Large Item Pick Up" day, but it is scheduled for twice a year and items are to be placed on the front street. Residents are notified, and the scheduled pick up is offered as a public service.
If you see anyone dropping off large items in an alley in Holden, please take down a license number and contact the Village Office. This is an illegal act, and the garbage trucks are not going to pick up anything left outside of the bins.

KidSport Alberta offers youth whose families are experiencing financial difficulties the opportunity to participate in a sports program by offering financial assistance up to $250 per child per calendar year. Parents in the Village of Holden can apply for this assistance by submitting a fully completed application form to the Alberta Chapter. The application and instructions on how to submit are attached.
The Viking Food Bank services households situated in Holden, Bruce, Viking, and Kinsella.
If you are in need of a food hamper you are asked to call the Viking/Beaver FCSS office at 780-336-4024. Please call by 4:00pm on Tuesday's in order for your hamper to be prepared for Wednesday pick-up between 11:00am and 12:00pm at the Viking United Church located at 5120-51 Street in Viking.
Development Permits are issued by the Village of Holden for any form of new development, change of use, alterations, or additions, among other activities that are all part of "Development".
